I’m probably one of the few New Yorkers who really enjoys Times Square. Times Square sits in my backyard, so the buzz isn’t too far away, and I love the energy at night. Tonight, we brought Kelly and Anita to take in the lights and enjoy tacos at Dos Caminos.
As we walked home from dinner, we saw them filming a scene from the CBS pilot, Doubt, at the Richard Rodgers theater. My mom was hilarious saying, “This is the closest we’re ever going to get to Hamilton.” As we stopped across the street to watch, Laverne Cox stepped out of the theater, carrying a red bag! I lit up as brightly as the billboards and marquees. WHAT an opportunity. It was pure magic.
Next door at MSG, the VMAs were taking over 7th Ave with police, black cars, paparazzi, and gawkers. The Empire State Building was lit up in red to celebrate the event.
I walked two short blocks home, and my only regret was that I forgot to catch Pokemon while in Times Square. Oh well. It’s not like it’s hard to go back.
